Key Responsibilities
- Financial Record Keeping: Accurately record and categorize financial activities, such as income and expenses. Maintain and update financial records like ledgers and journals.
- Bank Reconciliation: Make sure bank statements match financial accounts, finding and fixing any mistakes. Investigate and resolve discrepancies quickly.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Handle accounts payable by checking invoices, coding expenses, and preparing payments. Manage accounts receivable by sending invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
- Financial Reporting: Create financial reports like profit and loss statements and balance sheets. Give regular financial updates to management or other stakeholders.
- Tax Compliance: Help prepare financial records for taxes. Work closely with accountants or tax professionals during tax season.
- Expense Management: Watch and control expenses, find ways to save money, and keep financial discipline.
- Software and Tools: Use accounting software and tools to handle financial data efficiently. Stay updated on industry-standard accounting software and technologies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; an accounting degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheets.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Great attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and tax regulations.
Tasks
